Two for Joy is a mixed-media monoprint combining hand painted and collaged papers to depict two magpies who sat beyond my study window this winter and are now residents. 
 
Magpies are rarely still for long, but here they pause - alert, watchful and seemingly enjoying each other's company. Their presence always carries a certain tension, a sense of intelligence and curiosity held just beneath the surface. I love to see their flashes of black and white as they fly across the garden.
