A Small Voice in Winter is a mixed-media monoprint combining hand painted and collaged papers to depict a wren singing from within a winter hedgerow. Layers of texture and pattern suggest bramble, bracken and undergrowth, creating a dense, sheltering space in which the small bird becomes a point of warmth and presence. The work reflects the quiet signs of life that persist through the winter months.

It is painted on 300gsm Saunders Waterford paper and archival glue is used for the collage.
 
The painting measures 28cm x 26.5cm.
