Rooks in Winter Drypoint Engraving

Each year, at the time of the Winter Solstice, I make a visit to North Norfolk to walk along the coast and see the migratory birds.

I also always visit Baconsthorpe Castle, a magical ruin set deep in the countryside of North Norfolk. This engraving was made at the end of a freezing day there, and just as I was about to leave, the crows, jackdaws and rooks were sweeping across the bare tree tops as they went to roost.  I made a rapid sketch to mark the scene the memory and this engraving is the result.

Medium: a drypoint engraving

Size: the paper measures approximately 28cm x 20.5 cm and the plate measures 14cm x 15cm.

It is printed in black ink on Fabriano Rosapina 300gsm paper.

It is printed in an edition of 30.

Each print is despatched by Royal Mail Signed For and Tracked and packed securely.
