This is a limited edition linocut print of a heron, drawn from close observation and hand printed in my Norfolk studio. The edition is limited to 50.
 
A heron began visiting my garden, sitting hunched and motionless at the water’s edge, waiting for a fish to pass. I made a series of drawings and photographs, and River Man grew from that sustained looking.
 
Each print is hand cut and printed using water-based ink on heavyweight Somerset ivory paper. Subtle variations occur through the pressure of printing and the application of ink, making each print unique.

The accompanying photographs show stages of the process, from initial sketches through carving the lino to hand printing each impression.
 
Each print is signed, numbered and dated by the artist.
 
Prints are backed, wrapped in archival tissue, and sent flat with care instructions. Orders are carefully packaged and posted from my Norfolk studio, usually within 48 hours.
