Where the Blackbirds Settle is a mixed-media monoprint with hand painted collage, depicting a male and female blackbird perched on my garden railing late on a winter day. Interwoven strands of rose, honeysuckle, and clematis form a protective lattice around the birds to protect them. The fading December light softens the scene, while the pair bring a sense of companionship and stillness.

It is painted on 300gsm Saunders Waterford paper and archival glue is used for the collage.
 
The painting measures 36cm x 28cm.
