Baconsthorpe Hawthorn drypoint engraving by Deborah Vass

Baconsthorpe Hawthorn

Original Drypoint Engraving

This engraving developed from a drawing of a wind-sculpted hawthorn observed at Baconsthorpe in North Norfolk. Shaped by years of exposure, its sweeping form speaks of adaptation and endurance within an open landscape.

Working from sketchbook studies, the drawing becomes a meditation on structure, balance, and the subtle tensions held within growing things.

This engraving forms part of an ongoing study of trees observed in the Norfolk landscape.

This original drypoint is printed in black ink on Fabriano Rosaspina 300gsm paper.

The edition is limited to 30 prints. Each impression is signed and numbered, and subtle variations in the inking process ensure every print retains the character of a hand-pulled work.

Paper size: approximately 30cm × 21.5cm
Plate size: 25cm × 21.5cm

Your print will be carefully wrapped, supported with sturdy board, and posted flat to ensure it arrives in perfect condition.

Orders are dispatched from my Norfolk studio via Royal Mail Signed For and Tracked.

All original works are prepared with great care. Prints are signed and sent flat.
