Autumn Song is a monoprint collage of a wren among autumn bramble, bracken and larch branches, made with hand-painted papers.
 
Tiny but insistent, the wren sings even as the light begins to fall. Set within a tangle of thorn and fading leaves, the bird holds its place among the bramble, where growth is both protective and enclosing.
 
Built through layered monoprint and collage, the surface carries the marks of what has gone befor - traces and textures that echo the richness of the undergrowth. 
 
The piece measures 38cm x 28cm and is unframed.

It is painted on 300gsm Saunders Waterford paper and archival glue is used for the collage.
