Apples in the Old Orchard
This drawing was made from one of the old apple trees growing in my garden — the surviving remnants of what was once a Victorian orchard.
The branches twist and overlap with years of growth, carrying clusters of small apples among the leaves.
Drawn with a dip pen and Indian ink, the lines move freely across the page while washes of ink suggest the shifting foliage and shadow within the tree. The expressive marks capture the layered structure and quiet abundance of an old orchard in late season.
Printed as a high-quality giclée reproduction from the original drawing, signed by the artist, the print preserves the fluid pen line and tonal ink washes of the original work.
This is one of a series of observational studies inspired by the abundance of late autumn in the garden and hedgerow.
This is a giclée print on Hahnemuhle 308gsm cotton Matt Fine Art Paper.
The print measures 21cm x 14cm and is printed on A4 paper.
