Each morning the blackbird awaits at the back door for his breakfast of mealworms.
 
If I am late, I am met with a "hard stare".
 
This little painting of the male blackbird was inspired by my daily encounters.
 
It measures 21cm x 14.5 cm and is painted in gouach and watercolour on 100% cotton rag, blue grey Khadi paper.
